Knut Traaholt has started his role as chief financial officer of Norway-based shipping firm Flex LNG.
The LNG shipper controlled by billionaire John Fredriksen said in February that Traaholt would start work during the second quarter following the departure of former CFO Harald Gurvin.
According to Flex LNG, Traaholt has about 15 years’ experience from international shipping, offshore and E&P finance.
He previously served as client executive in Swedbank and director in ABN AMRO Bank where he worked with large shipping and offshore companies.
In addition to the new CFO, Flex LNG said it has also promoted Fergus Bristow from the position of group accountant to chief accounting officer.
Flex has earlier this year taken delivery of its twelfth vessel from South Korea’s Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries.
The firm has also one more carrier on order at Hyundai, Flex Vigilant, which should join the company’s fleet soon.
Following delivery of this vessel, Flex will wrap up its newbuild program with thirteen ships on water.
