France’s GTT has received a new order to design two very large LNG storage tanks in China.
China Chengda Engineering awarded the deal to the LNG tank specialist.
The new award follows a cooperation deal GTT signed with China’s Beijing Gas Group, a unit of Beijing Enterprises Group, earlier this year regarding the construction of up to six new LNG tanks at the Tianjin Nangang terminal.
Furthermore, this new order is related to the third expansion stage of the facility, GTT said in a statement.
Each tank would offer a capacity of 220,000 cbm and feature GTT’s GST technology, the French firm said, adding that the partners would deliver the tanks in the second quarter of 2024.
GTT and HQC are already constructing two 220,000-cbm storage tanks for Beijing Gas’ 5 mtpa LNG terminal in the Tianjin south port industrial zone.
The French firm also won an order for four tanks related to the second expansion stage of the facility.
Worth mentioning here, China’s Beijing Gas has recently revealed it was seeking liquefied natural gas supplies for the facility over a 10-year period.
