N-KOM wraps up work on K Line’s old LNG carrier

Qatar-based shipyard N-KOM said it has recently completed repair works on K Line’s 1998-built LNG carrier Zekreet.

“During the repair period, LNG Zekreet underwent drydocking for routine repairs and internal surface treatment of ballast water tanks,” N-KOM said on Wednesday.

The 137,482-cbm carrier works for Qatari LNG producing giant, Qatargas. It takes LNG at the Ras Laffan complex for onward distrubution to customers in Asia.

K Line is a repeat customer at N-KOM, according to the joint venture of LNG shipping giant Nakilat and Singapore’s Keppel Offshore & Marine.

The yard has completed hundreds of LNG vessel repairs since its launch in 2010, but it finalized its first FSRU project as well back in 2019.

N-KOM is located near the world’s largest LNG export complex in Ras Laffan.
