China’s Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering has launched a new vessel for London-based small-scale player Avenir LNG.
The launching ceremony for the 7,500-cbm Avenir Ascension took place on June 9 at the Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard, Avenir LNG said in a statement.
This is the second 7,500-cbm LNG bunkering and supply vessel CIMC SOE is building for Avenir, a joint venture consisting of Stolt-Nielsen, Hoegh LNG and Golar LNG.
Moreover, CIMC SOE will deliver this Maltese flagged ship in the fourth quarter of this year, according to Avenir.
To remind, the yard launched the first dual-purpose, small-scale 7,500-cbm vessel Avenir Aspiration in January this year.
In addition, CIMC SOE is also building two 20,000-cbm vessels and it launched the first, Avenir Allegiance, in January this year as well.
All of these ships will join Avenir’s fleet later this year.
Avenir already took delivery of two 7,500-cbm vessels, Avenir Advantage and Avenir Accolade, from Keppel Offshore & Marine’s Nantong yard.
