Hudong completes second LNG carrier for CSSC Shipping

China’s Hudong-Zhonghua has completed the second LNG carrier it is building for CSSC Shipping, the financial leasing unit of China State Shipbuilding Corporation.

Hudong, also part of CSSC, held a naming ceremony for the 174,000-cbm Gui Ying on Thursday.

Following delivery, the vessel will go on long-term charter to trader Gunvor.

Hudong recently delivered its sister vessel Mu Lan. This vessel will serve China’s state-owned giant CNPC.

In addition to these vessels, Hudong also signed another contract with CSSC Shipping in July for the third LNG carrier.

Part of Hudong’s fourth-generation Changxing series, all the LNG carriers feature WinGD’s X-DF dual-fuel engines and GTT’s NO96 L03+ containment system.

They are 295 meters long and 45 meters wide.
