Tersan delivers second LNG-powered fish carrier to Nordlaks

Turkey’s Tersan Shipyard said it has handed over the second LNG-powered fish carrier to Norwegian salmon producer Nordlaks.

The 84 meters long Harald Martin is on its way to Norway after departing the yard on Monday. It should arrive in Norway in November.

Tersan hosted the official delivery ceremony for the LNG-powered vessel earlier this month.

Besides LNG, the vessel also features battery power. Harald Martin has an ice-class 1A notation and includes shore connections for port operation.

The fish carrier developed by Norway’s NSK Ship Design is 19 meters wide and features two MAN Cryo 146-cbm LNG tanks.

It will transport over 600 tons of live fish, particularly salmon and trout.

To remind, Nordlaks took delivery of the first LNG-powered fish carrier, Bjorg Pauline, in April this year.

Norwegian downstream player Gasnor, a unit of Molgas, will fuel both of the vessels as part of a long-term contract.
