NYK and Geogas hand over another LNG newbuild to TotalEnergies

A joint venture consisting of NYK and Geogas LNG has delivered another newbuild LNG carrier to French energy giant TotalEnergies.

South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries handed over the 174,000-cbm LNG Endurance owned by France LNG Shipping and chartered by TotalEnergies Gas & Power on Wednesday, according to a statement by NYK.

The new vessel LNG Endurance features GTT’s Mark III Flex cargo containment system and WinGD’s X-DF engines.

The 293 meters long LNG carrier joins other two sister vessels LNG Endeavour and LNG Enterprise, both delivered in October and on long-term charter with TotalEnergies, NYK said.

This batch of LNG carriers also includes LNG Adventure delivered earlier this year.

The JV also took delivery of Elisa Laurus in May last year but this vessel serves EDF under a long-term charter.

French vessel manager Gazocean, owned by NYK and Geogas LNG, manages all of these vessels.

Gazocean previously said that another LNG carrier would join this fleet in the first quarter of 2022.
