Norwegian shipping firm Eidesvik Offshore said it has secured a contract extension from compatriot energy giant Equinor for one of its LNG-powered PSVs.
The dual-fueled 2008-built Viking Queen will start the new contract with Equinor in January next year, in direct continuation of the current contract.
Eidesvik said in a statement the new contract would last until May 2022, with options for further extensions.
It did not reveal any additional information regarding the contract.
Besides LNG propulsion, the 92.3 meters long Viking Queen features a battery hybrid system.
Eidesvik also has four additional LNG-powered PSVs in its fleet.
