Denmark’s Svanehoj said it has won an order to supply fuel pumps for 15 LNG-powered containerships under construction in China.
Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding awarded the contract to the pump manufacturer, according to a statement on Thursday.
Svanehoj said it would provide its patented deepwell fuel pumps for 15 dual-fuel LNG container vessels with a capacity of 7,000 TEU.
It would deliver in total 30 deepwell pumps from August 2022 to January 2024.
The order is among the company’s largest relating to LNG fuel to date and the second time within a year that the Chinese shipbuilder had chosen Svanehoj as the supplier of LNG fuel pump systems, it said.
In July 2021, the duo signed a contract for 10 dual-fuel LNG container vessels with a capacity of 15,000 TEU.
Svanehoj did not reveal the price tag of the new order.
Jiangsu New Yangzi is building these 15 LNG-powered containerships for Atlas Corp’s Seaspan and Israel’s ZIM.
The two firms signed charter deals for these LNG-powered container vessels last year.
