Gasum expands network of Swedish LNG fueling stations

Finnish state-owned energy firm Gasum has launched a new LNG and LBG fueling station in Sweden, adding to the nineteen stations it already operates in the country.

The twentieth station opening in Vargarda is part of the cooperation between Sandahls Logistik, Volvo Trucks, and Gasum, the latter said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to Gasum, the company’s network now consists of 22 liquefied gas stations across Sweden and a total of 50 across the Nordics. Gasum’s partners operate some of these stations.

As the infrastructure expands, Gasum expects there would be more and more gas-powered vehicles on Swedish roads.

Today, there are an estimated 600 heavy-duty vehicles that run on liquefied gas, Gasum said.
