Croatian FSRU gets first LNG cargo from Indonesia

State-owned terminal operator LNG Croatia said it had received the first cargo of liquefied natural gas from Indonesia at its FSRU-based facility on the northern Adriatic island of Krk.

LNG Croatia said in a short statement that the 2008-built 155,000-cbm, Cool Rover, arrived at the 140,000-cbm FSRU on June 1.

The LNG terminal operator said this is the 64th LNG cargo for the FSRU since it started operations in January 2021, but also the first from Indonesia.

LNG Croatia did not provide any additional information.

The LNG carrier, owned by Thenamaris and chartered by BP, loaded the LNG cargo at Pertamina’s Bontang LNG facility in Indonesia early in May, its AIS data provided by VesselsValue shows.

Prior to this shipment, Croatia’s FSRU-based Krk terminal received a cargo from Trinidad and Tobago’s Point Fortin plant.

The Croatian FSRU mainly receives LNG volumes from the US. It also received shipments from Egypt, Nigeria, Mozambique, Oman, and reloads from Dunkirk, Zeebrugge, and Barcelona.

Hungary’s MFGK and a unit Switzerland-based trading firm MET Group are some of the users of the facility.

New chief

LNG Croatia said in a separate statement that it had appointed Ivan Fugaš as its new director.

“The mandate of the company director Hrvoje Krhen ended today at his request due to leaving for a new position,” LNG Croatia said on June 1.

Fugaš previously worked as the director of LNG Croatia’s technical and operational sector and has been responsible for managing, maintenance, and development of the LNG terminal.

Before joining LNG Croatia, he worked as the head of gas transmission at Croatian TSO Plinacro, one of the two founding shareholders of LNG Croatia.
