Caturus announced Wyatt’s appointment as well as other executive leadership and board appointments in a statement on Tuesday.
UAE’s Mubadala recently closed its investment to buy 24.1 percent in Kimmeridge’s gas and LNG unit SoTex, which has been rebranded as Caturus.
The deal includes Commonwealth LNG, the developer of the 9.5 mtpa LNG facility located in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.
Caturus said in the statement that Wyatt brings an “impressive wealth of leadership experience across the global energy and maritime sectors, with a demonstrated track record of successfully overseeing strategic growth initiatives and operational excellence.”
Prior to this role, Wyatt held several senior executive positions at Hanwha Group, including executive VP and chief strategy officer – LNG and shipping.
Before joining Hanwha, Wyatt spent 12 years at US LNG exporting giant Cheniere, culminating in his role as senior VP of corporate development and strategy.
Wyatt also previously served on the board of directors for Cheniere Energy Partners and NextDecade.
Former BP’s LNG trading head
Caturus additionally welcomed a group of “established energy and leadership experts” to its board of directors.
These include Mike Stice, a veteran energy executive with decades of global leadership experience across the oil and gas value chain, and Jonty Shepard, the former VP LNG trading and origination at UK-based BP.
Shepard left BP last year after working more than 17 years on building the company’s LNG portfolio.
In addition, Caturus welcomed Markus Droll to its board.
Droll spent a distinguished career at Shell, where he retired as executive VP of projects and engineering, Caturus said.
