London-based small-scale LNG player Avenir LNG has appointed Jonathan Quinn as the company’s new managing director.
The joint venture of Stolt-Nielsen, Hoegh LNG, and Golar LNG said in a statement that Quinn was one of the founding management team members of Avenir when it established in 2018.
Prior to this appointment, Quinn served as Avenir’s commercial director and has been responsible for the group’s commercial strategy and business development.
He has over 10 years experience in midstream infrastructure, shipping and trading, and previously held business development and corporate strategy roles at Avenir’s shareholder Stolt-Nielsen.
Last month, Avenir’s chief executive officer, Peter Mackey, decided to step down from his role at the small-scale LNG player.
Avenir said at the time Quinn would work “closely with the Avenir leadership team and the board to ensure the smooth running of the company until a permanent replacement is found.”
The Oslo-stock listed company currently has a total fleet of five small-scale LNG tankers.
The latest vessel to join the fleet was the 20,000-cbm Avenir Achievement in May last year.
It also owns the Higas small-scale LNG terminal located on the Italian island of Sardinia, with assets/partnership now operating in China, Malaysia, the Mediterranean, Baltic Sea, and the Caribbean.
