Gasum announced the extension in a statement on Monday, but it did not provide further details.
Wasaline, part of the Swedish shipping group Stena Line, runs a shipping route between Finland and Sweden.
Its vessel Aurora Botnia uses batteries and bio-LNG, which is supplied by Gasum.
By running on bio-LNG, Wasaline’s vessel generates FuelEU Maritime regulation compliance for Stena Line’s other vessels, according to Gasum.
Stena Line operates 40 vessels and 20 routes in Northern Europe and the Mediterranean Sea.
Gasum also provides FuelEU Maritime regulation compliance as a service to ships calling at EU ports.
In Gasum’s verified pool, dedicated ships run on bio-LNG to generate compliance on behalf of ships that cannot meet the requirements of the regulation, it said.
Gasum supplies LNG and bio-LNG via trucks and vessels.
According to its website, the firm operates a fleet of six LNG bunkering vessels, including an under-construction vessel.
Earlier this year, Turkiye’s RMK Marine officially began construction of an LNG bunkering vessel for a joint venture between Gasum and the Swedish shipping firm Sirius.
Last year, Gasum and Sirius announced that they had ordered one LNG bunkering vessel with a capacity of 7,500 cbm from the Turkish shipbuilder.
The vessel will feature a hybrid battery.
It will be 112.9 meters long and 19 meters wide, with a draft of 6 meters.
