Germany’s Alternoil inks another bio-LNG deal

German LNG fueling station operator Alternoil has recently signed a deal to supply bio-LNG to compatriot logistics firm Contrail Transport.

Alternoil, a part of avanca, said in a statement it would supply bio-LNG to Contrail for at least the next six years.

It said that Visbek-based Contrail operates a modern fleet of more than 150 heavy-duty vehicles.

However, Alternoil did not provide any additional information regarding the deal.

With this deal, Alternoil’s customer portfolio continues to grow.

Alternoil also recently signed a deal to supply bio-LNG to compatriot transportation company Steinbach, and it signed deals to supply LNG-powered trucks owned by Lithuanian transport firm Vlantana, and Italian transport firm Zambon.

In August last year, Alternoil started taking deliveries of bio-LNG from Sweden-based Biokraft, previously known as Scandinavian Biogas.

The two firms signed a bio-LNG supply deal worth about 250 million euros ($272 million).

Alternoil also signed a deal to buy bio-LNG from Danish biogas producer GronGas.

In addition, Alternoil is a partner in REEFUELERY’s bio-LNG plant in Burghaun which is expected to start operations this year.

The company supplies LNG and bio-LNG via a large network consisting of more than 50 LNG stations in Germany.
