Himalaya’s LNG bulkers earned about $20,800 per day in August

LNG-powered bulker owner Himalaya Shipping achieved average time charter equivalent earnings of about $20,800 per day in August.

Tor Olav Trøim’s Himalaya said in a commercial update on Tuesday that its five vessels trading on index-linked time charter earned about $18,700 per day, gross, including average daily scrubber benefits of about $1,700 per day last month.

The company’s only vessel trading on fixed time charter earned $29,200 per day, gross, it said.

According to Himalaya, the Baltic 5TC Capesize Index averaged $12,942 during August, down from $13,192 during July.

In July, Himalaya’s four vessels trading on index-linked time charter earned about $22,300 per day, gross, including average daily scrubber benefits of about $1,600 per day.

During the first half of this year, Himalaya’s four vessels generated total operating revenues of $8.2 million, which is an average rate of $25,700 per day, gross.

carriers for Himalaya.

Earlier this year, Himalaya took delivery of the first vessel, Mount Norefjell, followed by the delivery of the second vessel, Mount Ita, the third vessel, Mount Etna, the fourth vessel, Mount Blanc, and the fifth vessel, Mount Matterhorn.

The latest and the sixth LNG-powered bulker, Mount Neblina, joined Himalaya’s fleet in August.

Himalaya is taking a small break with next delivery scheduled for January 2024.

Up to date, Himalaya secured charter deals for nine of these ships.
