Singapore’s FueLNG in LNG trucking milestone

FueLNG, a joint venture consisting of Keppel Offshore & Marine and Shell, said it has completed 1000 LNG trucking operations in Singapore.

These operations include truck-to-ship bunkering of tugs and offshore vessels, as well as truck-to-industry operations for industrial customers and LNG-powered vehicles, FueLNG said in a brief social media post.

In 2021, FueLNG completed around 440 truck-to-ship and truck-to-industry operations.

It also started operations to provide LNG logistics and refueling services for PSA Singapore’s fleet of 160 LNG-powered trucks.

This includes the transportation of LNG from the Singapore LNG terminal on Jurong Island to the LNG kiosk in PSA’s container terminal in Pasir Panjang.

Besides the rise in trucking operations, the joint venture earlier this year completed what it says is the first ship-to-ship LNG loading operation in Singapore.

Singapore’s first LNG bunkering vessel, the 7,500-cbm FueLNG Bellina, loaded liquefied natural gas from the Shell-chartered LNG carrier, Pan Asia, at Raffles Reserve Anchorage.

FueLNG’s bunkering ship is currently the only provider of STS bunkering in the country, contributing to the growth of the LNG ecosystem and Singapore’s ambition to become a leading LNG bunkering hub.
