NYK’s Gazocean welcomes new LNG carrier

French vessel manager Gazocean, a unit of Japan’s NYK, said it has taken delivery of the 174,000-cbm LNG Enterprise.

South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries built the vessel. Gazocean said the vessel, which flies the French flag, joined its managed fleet on Thursday.

Gazocean said the newbuild has the same technical characteristics as the 174,000-cbm LNG Adventure, but it did not provide any additional information.

This includes GTT’s Mark III Flex cargo containment system and WinGD’s X-DF engines.

NYK said in a separate statement the vessel, owned by France LNG Shipping, would serve TotalEnergies.

Earlier this year, the 174,000-cbm LNG Adventure started serving TotalEnergies as part of a long-term charter the firm signed with NYK.

France LNG Shipping, a joint venture of NYK and Geogas LNG, owns LNG Adventure as well. The venture also owns Elisa Laurus which was delivered in May last year to EDF.
