Croatia gets 11th LNG cargo

Croatia has received the 11th LNG cargo since the start of operations at its FSRU-based import terminal on the island of Krk in the northern Adriatic Sea.

The 2020-built 174,000-cbm vessel Bonito LNG, owned by TMS Cardiff Gas, docked at the 140,000-cbm FSRU on Thursday, according to state-owned Krk terminal operator, LNG Croatia.

LNG Croatia did not provide any additional information regarding the shipment.

Bonito LNG’s AIS data shows it previously loaded the cargo at Cheniere’s Corpus Christi LNG plant in Texas.

Including this cargo, the LNG Croatia FSRU has received in total seven shipments from the US since January 1. It also received two cargoes from Nigeria, one from Belgium’s Zeebrugge, and the previous onboard a Q-Max from Qatar.

The FSRU also supplied a small cargo in May to Avenir LNG’s dual-purpose bunkering and supply vessel Avenir Accolade.

Croatia’s first LNG terminal has the capacity to send up to 2.6 bcm per year of natural gas into the national grid.

Switzerland-based trading firm MET, Hungary’s MFGK, and Qatar’s PowerGlobe have booked almost all of the volumes at the Krk facility for the next three years.
