TotalEnergies launches its first LNG station in France

A unit of energy giant TotalEnergies said it has opened its first LNG filling station for trucks in France.

According to a statement on Thursday, TotalEnergies Mobility Solutions launched the LNG filling station in the port city of Le Havre, located in the Normandy region of northwestern France.

In addition to LNG, the service station will also offer natural gas in compressed form (CNG).

TotalEnergies already operates a network of LNG filling stations in the Netherlands and Belgium. Last year, its unit PitPoint opened a new LNG filling station for trucks in the Dutch city of Deventer, close to the German border.

Earlier this month, NGVA Europe’s report showed that Europe’s growing LNG fueling network has doubled its size in less than two years, reaching a new milestone of 500 LNG stations

According to the Brussels-based association, the countries with the highest amount of LNG stations for trucks today include Italy with 112, followed by Germany with 108.

France was also among the countries with the highest amount of LNG stations for trucks, with a total of 60 stations.
