Avenir LNG names Baltar as finance chief

London-based small-scale player Avenir LNG said it has appointed Abigail Baltar as the company’s chief financial officer.

The joint venture of Stolt-Nielsen, Hoegh LNG, and Golar LNG said in a statement on Tuesday that Baltar first joined the company assuming the role of head of finance in 2020.

She brings with her over 20 years of financial, investment and corporate finance experience, the last 11 of which have been within the shipping and oil and gas industry, according to the statement.

In addition, Baltar would continue to lead the company’s finance team and would play a “key role” in the company’s executive leadership team, Avenir LNG said.

CEO Peter Mackey said that Baltar had built a “strong track record since she joined Avenir and has been critical to our recent success and growth.”

“Abigail will play a key role within the group as we continue to build the company into the leading global small-scale LNG supplier,” he said.
