Germany’s Meyer Werft has delivered the second LNG-powered vessel, Arvia, to Carnival Corporation’s P&O Cruises.
Meyer Werft launched this LNG-powered ship, the sister vessel to Iona, in August, and the 344.5 meters long left ship left Papenburg last month.
UK-based P&O Cruises took delivery of Arvia in Bremerhaven on Thursday, according to a statement by Meyer Werft.
The LNG-powered newbuild measures over 180,000 GT. It has 16 decks, and can accommodate around 5,200 passengers in 2,659 cabins.
It will now head to Southampton, UK.
P&O Cruises said in a separate statement on Thursday it would ready the ship to welcome guests for the maiden cruise on December 23 before departure to the Caribbean on January 6, 2023 for a winter season from Barbados.
