Alternoil adds another German LNG fueling station

Germany’s Alternoil said that its network of LNG refueling stations in the country continues to grow with the recent opening of a new facility in Hof.

According to a statement by Alternoil, the REEFUEL LNG station has two dispensers and two lanes and is located in the industrial area Hochfranken.

Prior to this station, the firm opened a fueling facility for LNG-powered vehicles in Memmingen.

According to Alternoil’s website, the firm has 48 LNG fueling stations in Germany and plans 16 more.

Last year, it signed a deal with Sweden-based Scandinavian Biogas to buy bio-LNG from the latter.

Scandinavian Biogas said Alternoil would include the long-term bio-LNG supplies in the “climate-neutral” fuel REEFUEL distributed on the German transportation market.

Alternoil owns the REEFUEL brand produced from biomethane rendered by certified biological waste processes and green hydrogen generated by wind energy.

According to Scandinavian Biogas, the firm would supply 8,000 tonnes of bio-LNG during ramp up in 2024 and this would grow to 11,500 tonnes or 160 GWh per year from 2025 to 2030.
