Primagaz, the French unit of Dutch firm SHV Energy, expects to launch a new LNG fueling station for trucks next month.
According to Primagaz, the station, located in Montmarault at a multi-energy hub owned by independent fuel retailer Avia, will be ready to welcome LNG-powered trucks by mid-April 2024.
Besides LNG, the station will also in the future offer compressed natural gas (CNG), the firm said.
Primagaz did not provide more details regarding the station.
Back in 2021, the firm launched its 12th natural gas station with Avia in France.
Last year, European network of LNG fueling stations for vehicles reached 700 stations due to a growing demand for LNG and bio-LNG in the transport sector.
Data by Gmobility, previously known as NGVA Europe, shows that there are now 712 operational LNG stations in Europe.
Germany and Italy host 184 and 146 such stations, respectfully, while France hosts 83 LNG stations for trucks.
SHV Energy and its partner TotalEnergies recently sold PitPoint.LNG to Vitol’s German subsidiary ViGo Bioenergy.
PitPoint.LNG currently operates 12 heavy-duty LNG stations in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, and one bunkering station for inland waterway vessels in Cologne, Germany.
